Autumn... A taste of something fresh in the air, a subtle shift in focus.. After the summer of such heat and sunshine, what does this new season seem to bring..? The beginning of a fresh perspective perhaps, a little more inner space starting to open up, giving us the chance to look back and reflect on the gifts of the year so far. If we have a chance in our city lives to connect with the natural world; through gardens, allotments, or simply admiring trees in the park, we cannot fail to notice the abundance of produce ready for harvesting, along with the beauty of colours at play in the leaves above us.
In offering this workshop my wish is to give us a chance to celebrate that abundance and to rest a while in the presence of gratitude that is waiting within us.
What are we grateful for in our lives at this time?
What can we harvest from the months or years behind us, celebrate and give thanks for now?
And taking inspiration from the outdoors..
What does the natural world seem to whisper to us about grace at this time of year?
What does grace mean to us in our yoga practice and in our lives?
These themes will be the backdrop for our physical practice of Yoga and Somatics, with poses and sequences chosen to support our exploration. For this workshop you can expect the opportunity to explore some more vigorous poses with quieter, gentler sequences too. Suitable for all levels except complete beginners, the focus will be on listening to our own inner guidance and making the practice our own. Honouring our bodies and respecting their limits as well as bringing curiosity and fresh presence to where we are, opening to new possibilities in the unfolding body-mind.
There will also be time to spend in quiet contemplation of nature, as well as the chance to share thoughts and experiences as a group, if desired.
